Easy Sakai is a proposal to create a (free) Sakai distribution that is easier to install and do basic configurations of. Possible requirements include:

1. it would ship with a web-based tool that the user could use to easily modify Sakai configurations
2. it would ship with a skin tool to trivially change the skin colour of the default skin, as well as to upload a simple logo
3. it would have improved error handling and reporting
4. it would come with better web-based java memory and mysql monitoring tools
5. it would strive to decrease dependency on svn and maven for the end user, instead relying on a more automated way of applying patches
6. perhaps most importantly, it would have slower release cycles, to allow for more bug fixing between releases
